Desktop Application - System Check

This guide begins after you've selected a link from the ProctorFree Launch Portal and have downloaded and installed the ProctorFree Desktop Application .

During the System Check we'll ensure your camera, audio recorder, internet speed and processor meet our minimum requirements.

If using macOS Catalina (10.15+) you will receive a pop-up prompting you to enable the screen recording permissions required for using ProctorFree. Failure to do so may result in your institution electing to not accept your proctored session.

Tips for successfully completing the System Compatibility Check:
  • Close any extra programs or applications that are not required during your proctored session. Pay attention to the instructions provided by your institution in regards to what is, and what is not allowed during the exam, including any study guides.
  • Disconnect any additional monitors from your primary computer.
  • Verify your microphone and webcam are working properly.
  • When using laptop computers they should be connected to a power supply.
  • Ensure there aren't other unnecessary items using your internet bandwidth. An example would be someone streaming or downloading internet files in the next room.
