In some instances, your browser's pop-up settings may have prevented your exam from opening successfully in a new window. Please review the steps below for your browser to learn how to disable pop up blockers.
💬 Before troubleshooting, review all of your open browser windows by clicking on your browser application towards the bottom of your screen — your exam may already be open in another window or tab.
Firefox (Mac)
Click on the Options (☰) icon in the top right corner of the Firefox browser, and select Preferences from the available list.
- The "Preferences" window will open.
- Click on the Content tab.
- Uncheck "Block pop-up windows."
- Close the Preferences window.
- Pop-up windows are now enabled in Mozilla Firefox.
✅ If you are in an active ProctorFree Exam Session:
- Locate your ProctorFree Exam Session window (the floating webcam capture) and click "End ProctorFree Session."
- Attempt to re-launch your exam from the ProctorFree Student Portal Exam List.
Firefox (Windows)
Click on the Options (☰) icon in the top right corner of the Firefox browser, and select Options from the available list.
- The "Options" window will open.
- Click on the Content tab.
- Un-check "Block pop-up windows."
- Close the Options window.
- Pop-up windows are now enabled in Mozilla Firefox.
✅ If you are in an active ProctorFree Exam Session:
- Locate your ProctorFree Exam Session window (the floating webcam capture) and click "End ProctorFree Session."
- Attempt to re-launch your exam from the ProctorFree Student Portal Exam List.
Google Chrome (Mac)
- Click the three-dot menu (â‹®) in the top right corner of Chrome, and select Settings.
- Click Privacy and security in the left sidebar.
- Click Site settings.
- Click Pop-ups and redirects.
- Select "Sites can send pop-ups and use redirects."
✅ If you are in an active ProctorFree Exam Session:
- Locate your ProctorFree Exam Session window (the floating webcam capture) and click "End ProctorFree Session."
- Attempt to re-launch your exam from the ProctorFree Student Portal Exam List.
Google Chrome (Windows)
- Click the three-dot menu (â‹®) in the top right corner of Chrome, and select Settings.
- Click Privacy and security in the left sidebar.
- Click Site settings.
- Click Pop-ups and redirects.
- Select "Sites can send pop-ups and use redirects."
✅ If you are in an active ProctorFree Exam Session:
- Locate your ProctorFree Exam Session window (the floating webcam capture) and click "End ProctorFree Session."
- Attempt to re-launch your exam from the ProctorFree Student Portal Exam List.
Safari (Mac)
- Click the Safari menu in the top left corner, and select Settings (or Preferences, depending on your macOS version).
- Click the Websites tab.
- Select Pop-up Windows from the left-hand sidebar.
- Set "When visiting other websites" (bottom-right corner) to Allow.
✅ If you are in an active ProctorFree Exam Session:
- Locate your ProctorFree Exam Session window (the floating webcam capture) and click "End ProctorFree Session."
- Attempt to re-launch your exam from the ProctorFree Student Portal Exam List.
Microsoft Edge (Windows)
- Click the three-dot menu (⋯) in the top right corner of Edge, and select Settings.
- Click Cookies and site permissions in the left sidebar.
- Scroll down and click Pop-ups and redirects.
- Toggle "Block (recommended)" to off.
✅ If you are in an active ProctorFree Exam Session:
- Locate your ProctorFree Exam Session window (the floating webcam capture) and click "End ProctorFree Session."
- Attempt to re-launch your exam from the ProctorFree Student Portal Exam List.
